CeCaLi XXI (Centro de Capacitación para Líderes del siglo XXI), a program of American Baptist Home Mission Societies’ Latino Ministries office, introduces its Church Leadership Development fall virtual workshops to be presented in ABHMS’ new Center for Continuous Learning.
Delivered completely in Spanish, CeCaLi is designed to equip Latino pastors and leaders from the United States and Puerto Rico. Every workshop is tailored according to the reality of participants in their communities. Join us as we explore emerging issues in ministry, congregational life, and pastoral practice and offer practical tools, resources, and coaching to fuel your ministry.
“Several years of experience working with the Latin church, interacting with its leaders, and reading relevant literature have made me understand that our pastors and leaders have specific needs,” says the Rev. Salvador Orellana, director of ABHMS’ Latino Ministries.
“CeCaLi addresses those needs by offering a Spanish-language program that will help them acquire theological and practical tools for ministry.”
CeCaLi is offering a virtual event comprised of four two-hour sessions 1-3 p.m. ET Oct. 16 and Nov. 20. While this program is intended to be four sessions, participants need not attend all sessions.
- Oct. 16, “Effective Use of Technology in Pastoral Ministry”
Take a tour of the most common social networks and technological tools relevant to pastoral ministry. Learn which ones to use and how to do so effectively within the context of pastoral ministry. Facilitated by Prof. Omayra Torres, chair of the Cooperativa de Servicios Educativos Especializadas in Bayamón.
- Nov. 20, “Dispute Resolution”
This course will reveal conflict as a natural human process that is necessary and transformative within congregations and communities, especially in times of crisis. Facilitated by Yarilis Hidalgo Pláceres, MHRLR.
While the cost to participate in the full program is $20, those who want to attend individual sessions pay $10 per session. Scholarships are available to members of American Baptist churches. Register online.
