The Center for Continuous Learning is once again offering its popular chaplaincy skills course for those interested in offering spiritual care in a community context. The course aims to equip learners with the theory, practices, and various chaplaincy contexts. It is designed for individuals exploring a call to chaplaincy in healthcare, prisons, military, higher education, and those already providing community support as pastors, deacons, missionaries, or other roles.

The six-week synchronous online course will feature 12 hours of class time with board-certified and endorsed chaplains. It will cover topics such as interfaith settings; listening skills; cultural humility; ethics; self-care; ministry of presence; ecumenical and interfaith engagement; sensitivity towards trauma; and more. Classes will be held Monday evenings from 6:00-8:00 pm ET / 3:00-5:00 pm PT starting February 6th through March 13th, 2023. Cohort membership is limited, so those interested should secure their spot soon!

The cost of the course is $249 per person. For that fee, participants will receive not only instruction but also written material and other assignments designed to help build competence in chaplaincy in community contexts. This practical course offers an excellent opportunity for learners to gain a deeper insight into the field of chaplaincy and its many facets of providing emotional support for many individuals within different contexts.
